1950's Pharmagel, founded by the Peviani Family in Northern Italy, became the first European hard gelatine capsule manufacturing plant.
1963 Following the formation of a partnership with the P. Leiner Group of the UK, Pharmagel enters the manufacture of softgel capsules, with its plant at Lodi, near Milan, Italy.
1970 Pharmagel commences the manufacture of softgel manufacturing equipment in Italy and sells the first line.
1978 Pharmagel comes under the independent control of the Peviani Family.
1982 Pharmagel develops the MK 2 softgel encapsulation line - capable of up to 5 RPM and an output of up to 330,000 million softgels per year.
1984 Through a series of symposia, Pharmagel introduces modern softgel encapsulation technology to The Peoples Republic of China.
1985 Opening of second softgel plant in Lodi, with 4 encapsulation lines for cosmetics and paintball production.
1987 The size of the Lodi pharmaceutical softgel encapsulation plant is increased to a capacity of 2 billion capsules per year, and United States FDA approval is obtained.
1991 Opening of a new Pharmagel Group softgel encapsulation plant in Neuvic, France, for the manufacture of pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, cosmetics and paintballs.
1993 Co-operation agreement between Pharmagel and R.P. Scherer Corporation of the USA, the multinational softgel capsule manufacturer.
1996 Pharmagel develops the MK 3LS Softgel Encapsulation Line - capable of up to 6 RPM and an output of 450 million softgels per year.
1998 The new state of the art R & D, and training centre is opened at Pharmagel's Lodi Headquarters.
